We are off-road motorcycle riders, just like you. Day rides were fun, but something was missing.

Several years ago, while daydreaming on the internet, I stumbled across an article that changed my thinking from riding to adventuring.

What would it be like to travel across some of the most beautiful scenery in Central and Eastern Oregon from the Washington border all the way to the California border, on an off-road motorcycle? Could it be possible?

Well, Tom Meyers and Zander Nosler's story of their Oregon Backcountry Discovery Route Adventure had me hooked.

And from this High Desert Adventures was born; the perfect combination of the love of motorcycling and desire for adventure!

Since then we have logged thousands of miles on the OBDR and other routes in Central and Eastern Oregon and Baja, Mexico.

Our team is made up of a group of fabulous people whose goal is to share that indescribable experience with you.

It is one of those things that words and pictures can only partially describe. To fully experience the Oregon backcountry you just have to ride it!

WHAT OTHERS SAY ABOUT THEIR HIGH DESERT ADVENTURE

It truly was an adventure of a lifetime. I had a terrific time. I was nervous about it at the beginning, considering the distances and variety of terrain, but ultimately I was surprised that I could handle it all and really enjoyed myself.

We all talked about the trip on the way home to all of us in Greg's vehicle certainly felt like we would love to come do it again next year. We also talked ourselves into upgrading the size of our bikes.

I thought that your guys were great. Very helpful, courteous, patient and friendly.

Hi Greg: Thanks very much. I really did like the varied terrain. It was amazing to me how we could, in the course of a couple hours, cover nearly every kind of terrain, and we really enjoyed some spectacular sights along the way.

I only had about 8 hours or so of seat time and a dirt bike safety course. I ride with my young kids, who are also still learning, so a lot of my riding time is spent going a mile or so and then stopping to check on them. I'd never done a long distance leg.

I feel like I'm a much better rider now and would enjoy taking a tour again in the future. I've got a few photos to send your way too. Thanks for a great adventure!

Hi Greg. I had a great time and I don't think I would change anything on the trip except when I crashed (ha ha).

You were great to ride with and to hang around with. I will try to get Lisa to send you some video of the ride when she gets a chance and maybe you could put it on the DVD.

Well I am trying to get some people together to go on the Wild West tour, so I will be sure to let you know what happens. Well take care and I will be talking to you soon.

Hey Greg, The whole trip was great. All the food and places we stayed were awesome. The first day's section with the berms through the trees was awesome, even though hitting one of the trees took out my electric start for the rest of the trip! The last day through the mountains and ending in the canyon was by far the most scenic day and the riding was overall the more technical of the trip. I liked riding through all the hills and rocks.

All the food was great and just seeing Oregon on a dirt bike was an awesome experience, a good change from the little goat trails and single track riding through the forests and mountains that I usually do.

Thanks again for the great time and I look forward to seeing the DVD and riding with you guys again.

First off, wow, what an adventure! I had an exceptional time and I am really glad I had the opportunity to run this route with my friends and High Desert Adventures.

I can honestly say that I would have never explored these parts of Oregon on my own, and now that I have, I will definitely be back for more.

My Father in Law (Larry) and I went on a High Desert Adventure Trip last year in Eastern Oregon. We had the time of our lives!!

Larry and I hadn't rode motorcycles in probably 10 years when he saw an ad on Craigslist for High Desert Adventures. He asked me if I wanted to go on a three day 400 mile back country ride, and we decided to go for it. We both had a few reservations because we hadn't rode in so long and didn't even have bikes to practice on...

We made the drive to Oregon from Reno and joined up with Greg and about ten other riders for a meet and greet the night before the ride started. Greg has that "good people" vibe that makes you feel comfortable right from the start. We soon learned that he has a full time profession and does the Adventure Tours because it's his passion more than anything! All the guy's that were going on the tour were great!!

We rented bikes from Greg since at the time we didn't have our own. The bikes were in great shape and everyone made us feel comfortable riding at our own level. Some of the terrain we traveled through was challenging, but we were able to survive and enjoy it. The ride had some really great terrain features, views were outstanding, some neat historical interest points, and some of the best single track trails I have seen. We also met some great people at every stop!

The planning for the trip was excellent! Greg led the ride and had Ace as a chase rider. Both very experienced and fun to ride with! Every stop was well coordinated, the food was outstanding, and the bars were great! We had a blast!!

In closing, I would say that we had such a good time on our trip that we both bought dual sports when we got back to Reno. We've been riding all over around Reno, Lake Almanore, Moon Rocks, Dog Valley, etc... and we are really looking forward to going on another trip with Greg and his crew. Larry and I decided that we needed to do at least one High Desert Adventure trip each year... I can't think of a better way to see some beautiful back country and make some new friends!

Where do I start, beautiful Oregon High Desert scenery, great weather, well rounded choice in riding terrain for all levels of experience and good food.

This was the best man vacation for the modern day, western steel steeded cowboy. The down time with the flat tires, gave me a chance to reflect on the scenery and life, the hippie in me!

Thanks for the fun time, I had a blast. I have been reading the ride report on Adv. Rider.

James and I both had the time of our lives. It was a great adventure!

As we got closer to the staging area on the last day I was feeling sad it was over. Great time, great people. I hope you will have us again.

I can't thank Ace enough for the bike. I would like to do something for him maybe a gift certificate to the best restaurant in Bend. Your input would help. He is truly a great human being.
